President Bola Tinubu will kick off a 17-day commissioning of Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) projects today, starting with the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.
However, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike clarified that the President will commission 10 key projects, not 17, to mark his second anniversary in office.
Some of the projects to be commissioned include:
-Renovated International Conference Centre: The ICC has undergone significant refurbishment and will now be managed directly by the FCT Minister's office, with Julius Berger handling maintenance.
- Road Projects:
- Gishiri Area Road: Connecting Ring Road 1 interchange to Jahi, Maitama, and Mabushi.
-N16 Interchange: A major infrastructure project in Abuja.
-Maitama-Katampe-Jahi Connecting Roads: Improving connectivity in the city.
-Inner Northern Expressway: From Ring Road 3 (Idu to Kubwa Road).
-Other Projects:
-Kugbo and Mabushi Bus Terminals: Enhancing transportation infrastructure.
-Apo-Wassa Road: A key road project in the FCT.
-Projects in Satellite Towns: The President and other dignitaries will commission projects in these areas to showcase federal government presence.
The commissioning activities will involve various dignitaries, including:
-President Bola Tinubu: Will personally commission some projects.
- Vice President Kashim Shettima: Will represent the President at three project commissionings.
-Senate President Godswill Akpabio: Will commission two projects on behalf of the President.
-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas: Will also commission two projects.
