A pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Faturoti Olaniyi, has been abducted by gunmen in Karu, Nasarawa State.
The incident occurred early on Wednesday, June 24, 2025, when the attackers stormed Olaniyi's home near Bristol Academy, Federal Housing Authority (FHA) in Karu.
According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, the gunmen entered the building at around 1:30 am, fired several shots, and took the victim away to an unknown location. Residents fled in panic as the attackers operated without immediate opposition.
A manhunt was launched in response to the incident, with joint teams of police, local vigilantes, hunters, and other security personnel blocking suspected escape routes and searching the surrounding areas.
As of the time of the report, the victim remains in captivity, and search and rescue efforts are ongoing.
