The Presidency has denied reports that Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume has been replaced.
The rumors, which spread online on Saturday, June 28, claimed that Akume had been sacked by President Bola Tinubu and replaced with someone else.
In a statement shared on social media, by Bayo Onanuga, who refuted the claim, stating that President Tinubu, who is currently on a state visit to St. Lucia, has not made any fresh appointments.
‘’Akume remains SGF:
There has been no change in the status of His Excellency, Senator George Akume, as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, currently in Saint Lucia, has not made any new appointments.
The information circulating about Akume's replacement is untrue. Agents of mischief fabricated it.
