Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has made a shocking allegation that some Nigerian politicians are sponsoring Boko Haram insurgents to undermine President Bola Tinubu's administration.
Speaking on Channels TV, on Monday, Kalu claimed that the political class is using terrorism as a tool to fight Tinubu, just like they did with previous administrations. "The political class is behind Boko Haram," Kalu stated emphatically.
When pressed for clarification, Kalu identified politicians, wealthy businesspeople, and senior civil servants as the culprits. "People in the political class are fueling Boko Haram," he said. "This is a political war. Some of them aren't after money - they're after power. They want to tear down the system just to grab control, and that's not how power should be acquired."
Kalu further emphasized that the insecurity in Nigeria is politically induced, driven by individuals seeking to hijack political power. "These individuals - politicians, businessmen, civil servants - are not just seeking financial gain. They're looking to hijack political power," he added.
