St. John Vianney Science College from Anambra State, Nigeria, has emerged as the grand champion of the inaugural UK-Nigeria Debate Competition.
The competition, was held virtually on June 19, 2025, featured top schools from both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Four Nigerian schools and three UK schools took part in the competition.
St. John Vianney Science College faced off against St. Augustine’s College, Jos, in the all-Nigerian final. St. John Vianney Science College secured a decisive win, earning the title of Inaugural UK-Nigeria Debate Champions.
The team from St. John Vianney Science College demonstrated exceptional debating skills, defeating British schools like Maghull High School and Central Foundation Girls’ School in the earlier rounds before advancing to the final.
