Kassim was apprehended in Chicago following his conviction for aggravated criminal s+xual abuse in Kankakee County, Illinois. ICE listed his case among the most serious in its latest sweep, which focused on individuals deemed threats to public safety.
“President Trump and Secretary Noem will not allow criminal illegal aliens to terrorize American citizens,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Our ICE officers are removing predators—like those convicted of s+xual abuse—from American communities.”
The arrest is part of a broader ICE campaign that has seen over 100,000 illegal immigrants with criminal histories taken into custody.
