Thomas Ibu, a staff member in the Publicity Department of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been arrested by security agents at the party's national secretariat in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
The arrest occurred amid an escalating crisis within the party, particularly over the position of National Secretary and ahead of the 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
A News correspondent witnessed policemen surrounding and apprehending Ibu, prompting other staff members to try to intervene. Despite resistance from PDP staff, the security operatives overpowered them and took Ibu away.
The reason for Ibu's arrest remains unclear as of the time of reporting. The incident occurs against the backdrop of internal party tensions, particularly regarding leadership positions and ahead of a significant NEC meeting.
