Laide Bakare, the Nollywood actress, has fired back at controversial singer Portable after he mocked her in a social media video .
The drama escalated when Portable took to Instagram to taunt
Bakare, claiming she lacked wealth despite being a celebrity.
He alleged that the actress had invited him to perform at
her event but failed to pay him, leading to a rift between them.
According to Portable, Bakare has been upset with him ever
since he declined her offer, even going as far as insulting his appearance.
“You invited me to your party but didn’t have the money to
pay. Since then, you’ve been angry with me and started telling people I’m not
handsome,” he said.
“I’m not handsome, yet you still wanted me at your party.
You said I’m a dirty boy from Sango, that’s why I’m calling you out. You
started the fight.
“I’m fighting with you because you’re not rich. If you were,
we’d be friends.”
In response, Bakare, visibly irritated, warned the singer to
tread carefully.
“Portable, I’m not sure you are okay. Behave yourself,” she said via Instagram.
The conflict between the two began in 2024 when Bakare
referred to Portable as a “dirty boy from Sango” during an interview on Talk To
B, claiming he only gained access to her because of the internet.
