Kebbi State Govt Plans Tough Laws Against Bandit Informants


The Kebbi State Government has announced plans to review existing laws to impose harsher penalties on individuals found guilty of aiding bandits. 


Governor Nasiru Idris made this announcement on Tuesday during condolence visits to communities affected by recent bandit attacks.


The proposed laws aim to deter individuals from providing information to bandits, which Governor Idris described as a deadly threat to society. He emphasized that his administration is committed to handling security matters with utmost seriousness.


To bolster security in the state, Governor Idris disclosed plans to establish an army operational base in Zuru Emirate. Additionally, he has facilitated the deployment of Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and other security equipment to the state.


The governor expressed sadness over the loss of 30 lives in the recent attacks and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritizing security and protecting citizens.
