At least 265 dead bodies have been recovered from the crash
site of a London-bound passenger jet which crashed into a residential area of
India’s Ahmedabad city on Friday.
NigerianEye reported on Thursday that the crashed Air India
flight had lost signal shortly after leaving Ahmedabad airport.
About 53 British nationals, 169 Indians, 7 Portuguese, and 1
Canadian were on board.
In an update on Friday, Indian Deputy Commissioner of
Police, Kanan Desai said no fewer than 265 bodies had so far been counted.
The authority suggested that about 24 people may have died
on the ground, stating that the toll may rise as more body parts are being
recovered.
Rescue teams with sniffer dogs have been in search of the
victim at the crash site of the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242
passengers and crew.
