Governor Umo Eno, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and reiterated his support for President Bola Tinubu's second term in office.
Governor Eno stated that he has always admired President Tinubu's leadership style, which he observed firsthand while working in Lagos during Tinubu's tenure as governor.
Eno expressed his unwavering support for Tinubu's second term, citing the president's vigour and renewed energy in driving reforms.
The governor emphasized that he has no apology for backing Tinubu's re-election bid, believing that the president needs a second term to complete the reforms he has initiated.
“As a young professional working in Lagos while he was the governor, I have always admired his style of leadership with focus and vision.
“I have no doubt this vigour and renewed energy is being applied to the nation today.
“I have no apology whatsoever for supporting President Tinubu for a second term in office, to complete the reforms he has started.,” he said.
The governor's move is likely to boost the APC's strength in Akwa Ibom State and further solidify support for President Tinubu's administration.
