Lagos-based human rights lawyer, Festus Ogun is set to file a lawsuit against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for blocking him on X (formerly Twitter) for three years.
Ogun claims the governor's action violates his constitutional right to freedom of expression.
He announced on his X page that he'll approach the courts this July to seek redress.
The governor allegedly blocked Ogun on X nearly three years ago, and Ogun believes the blocking infringes on his freedom of expression under the Nigerian Constitution.
The announcement has sparked debates on social media about digital rights, free speech, and public officials' obligations on social media platforms .
