Former Vice President, Namadi Sambo has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after leaving the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Sambo, who served under President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, was formally received into the APC by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna.
Sambo's move comes amid a wave of high-profile exits from the PDP, with several senators, members of the National Assembly, and state leaders switching allegiance to the APC in recent months.
The defection was met with mixed reactions, with some PDP members expressing disappointment and viewing it as a loss for the opposition.
Sambo's defection could bolster the APC's influence in northern Nigeria, particularly in Kaduna, where he remains a respected figure.
