The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested six suspected bandits, comprising three men and three women, at Kaduna International Airport shortly after their return from the Islamic pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
According to reliable security insider, the arrests were made around 3:40 a.m. on June 24, during routine screening at the airport's Hajj terminal, based on intelligence reports and prior surveillance.
The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation to determine their involvement in banditry and related crimes Kaduna and Zamfara states.
The DSS is working closely with state pilgrim agencies to ensure a secure environment for Hajj operations and prevent criminal elements from exploiting religious gatherings.
