A deadly armed attack occurred in Ogwutu village, Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The community was attacked on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. At least one person was killed, and two others were injured in the incident.
Security forces revealed the attack happened around 5:00 a.m. when unidentified armed men invaded the TIV settlement along Iyade Road.
They shot sporadically and set houses ablaze, causing panic and destruction in the community.
“One Yega Hosamo, male, aged 35, was shot and k!lled during the attack. Two women – Veronica Jacob Alakashe and Nguvelen Kaase – sustained gunshot wounds to the arm and lower body, respectively,” said the sources.
He added that the injured victims were taken to Ochala Memorial Clinic, Abejukolo, for medical treatment.
“The deceased’s body has been evacuated to the General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy while investigation has commenced to apprehend the perpetrators.”
