The All Progressives Congress, APC, has responded to speculation that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, wants to move to the ruling party.
There are speculations that the ex-governor of Kano State
might be moving to the ruling party, especially now that Abdullahi Ganduje has
resigned as the party’s Chairman.
However, in an interview with Channels Television on Sunday,
the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka stated that no
discussion is in sight.
“The party I speak for has said nothing about Kwankwaso
possibly joining,” he said when asked about the possibility of the former
Governor jumping ship.
“We have not made that determination and are not able to
make it at the moment,” he added.
Speaking further, the ruling party’s mouthpiece waved aside
claims making the rounds about possible internal issues affecting the party’s
operations.
He said the party is running smoothly, adding that people
cannot be stopped from saying what they want.
“The party is running as it should. People are entitled to
have their moments, but that does not indicate dysfunction,” he said.
