A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe
Igbokwe has also voiced his anger over alleged extortion in domestic airlines.
Igbokwe, who was reacting to a mild drama between Senator
Adams Oshiomhole and the Air Peace on Wednesday, said he was once a victim of
the airline’s infractions.
DAILY POST recalls that Oshiomhole and the Air Peace were
trading words on Wednesday with the lawmaker accusing the airline of making
deliberate efforts to extort money from unsuspecting citizens.
While the airline alleged that the lawmaker disrupted
activities at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall), Oshiomhole
claimed that himself and other passengers were abruptly prevented from boarding
from Lagos to Abuja even after doing online check-in.
According to Oshiomhole, some passengers, who purchased
tickets online were denied boarding while those, who paid double for emergency
service were allowed.
The lawmaker explained that he got to the airport with his
ticket but “they denied me, somebody went in and ah it’s Oshiomhole, then the
senior manager came out and said, ‘Oga, let’s see how I can sort you out.’ I
said, ‘No, I don’t want personal favors.’”
Reacting, Igbokwe in a Facebook comment he made while
sharing Oshiomhole’s encounter, tagged such incidents as a “reoccurring
decimal”, which according to him, has been happening for years.
He wrote, “We play too much in the country. What HE Adams
Oshiomhole discovered has been a reoccurring decimal for years now.
“I was once a victim because I made public my encounter with
them on my trip to Enugu”.
