Kenneth Okonkwo, former spokesperson of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council in 2023, said the coalition by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo, and other political heavyweights would hit the ruling All Progressives Party hard come 2027.
Okonkwo disclosed this in an interview on Channels
Television’s Sunday Politics.
According to him, the coalition has the ‘engine room’ to
unseat the APC in the 2027 general elections.
“Just know that I am part of the coalition. I can tell you
about the engine room of this coalition that many people don’t know about. APC
will not know what hit them come 2027,” he stated.
The development comes as the coalition sought registration
of a new political party called the All Democratic Alliance, ADA.
Meanwhile, leaders of APC, such as the Governor of Kaduna
State, Uba Sani, said the coalition was not a threat against President Bola
Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027.
