President Bola Tinubu’s administration has been described as the most incompetent and anti-people in Nigeria’s history.
Former Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate,
Atiku Abubakar, said Tinubu’s two years in office has been marred with failure.
In a statement he personally signed, Atiku accused Tinubu’s
administration of inflicting more hardship on Nigerians like no other previous
administration.
Atiku’s statement reads partly: “In just two years,
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has proven to be one of the most
incompetent, disconnected, and anti-people governments in Nigeria’s democratic
history.
“No previous administration has inflicted this level of
hardship on the masses while showing such disregard for transparency,
accountability, and responsible leadership.’’
The former Vice President blamed the high level of poverty
in Nigeria to Tinubu administration’s wastefulness.
He said: ‘’This government has not only deepened poverty
across the country, but it has also set new records in wasteful public
spending.
“It is sad that apart from being the poverty capital of the
world, Nigeria has under this administration emerged the capital of
malnourished children in Africa, having beaten Sudan, a nation that is at war.”
Atiku said the policies of Tinubu’s administration targets
poor Nigerians while “providing relief and advantage to the rich.”
The former Vice President also accused Tinubu of being
responsible for Nigeria’s current debt crisis.
Tinubu marks his second year in office today May 29, 2025.
The president who was the All Progressives Congress, APC,
presidential candidate defeated Atiku during the last presidential election.
While Tinubu emerged as the winner, the former Vice
President came second in the election.
Meanwhile, Tinubu reflecting on his midterm said over
900,000 Nigerians have benefitted from the Presidential Loan and Grant Scheme
of his administration.
He said over 300,000 beneficiaries of students’ loan
schemes.
The president noted that his administration has cleared over
$10 billion FX debt.
According to Tinubu, there are over 440 ongoing road
projects, including over 2,700km of superhighways.
Others are: 3.84% GDP growth in Q4 2024, highest in 3 years.
N70,000 minimum wage payment.
Over 13,500 terrorists eliminated.
Over $50 billion in new FDI commitments.
Net Foreign Exchange Reserves up from $3.99 billion (2023)
to $23.11 billion (2024).
4 new landmark Tax Bills.
5 new Regional Development Commissions.
The president said his administration realized over $800
million in processing investments in solid minerals in 2024.
Tinubu also boasted of improving Nigeria’s economy and
fighting insecurity to a reduced level since he became president.
