Police arrest NDLEA officer over attempted robbery, shooting of bolt driver

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended a serving officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for a failed armed robbery attempt that left a Bolt driver injured in Abuja.

According to police sources available to Zagazola Makama, the incident took place around 12:10 a.m. on Friday at City View Estate, Galadimawa, following a distress call about an ongoing robbery attempt.

The suspect, identified as Felix Emmanuel, an Inspector with the NDLEA’s FCT Command, allegedly tried to hijack a Toyota Corolla (registration number KWL 736 SZ) from Bolt driver Mr. Israel Emeka while the vehicle was still in motion.

During the confrontation, Emmanuel reportedly shot the driver using a locally-made pistol. The victim was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, and is currently undergoing treatment.

Police officers from the Galadimawa Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), responded swiftly to the scene and arrested the suspect.
