Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about the emotional period following the tragic loss of his son, revealing how his absence from the public eye impacted the music scene.
Speaking candidly, Davido shared that during his time away from the internet, there were no plans for new music, not even his hit track Unavailable.
Yet, despite the silence, he felt an overwhelming wave of love from fans, and even critics.
"At that time, I had not recorded Unavailable. There was no plan, all I knew was that people loved me. When I was not active on the internet, the whole industry shut down, it was so quiet out there. Even people that hated me were asking me to come back online so they could diss me." He said
He explained that the experience inspired the line “I dey live my life, man dey turn am to shoot on sight”, reflecting both his pain and resilience.
