This is a follow-up to the viral report of a pregnant woman assaulted by her mother-in-law in Calabar, Cross River State.
Fresh details have now identified the assailant as Mrs. Amber Ndifon, who currently serves as the Education Secretary of Etung Local Government Area.
According to the victim, Mrs. Ndifon traveled from Etung to confront her in Calabar, where she beat her severely on the stomach, ear, and arm while demanding she leave her son’s house.
Tragically, the woman lost her pregnancy following the assault.
In a video she recorded during the incident, her husband, Ndim Ejor Ndifon, can be seen standing by and doing nothing to protect her.
She has since been driven out of the house and is currently battling health complications from both the violence and stress.
The case has been reported to the Cross River State CID, while the Commissioner for Health has also been notified.
Meanwhile, a new video has surfaced online showing the husband’s brother threatening the woman for taking the matter public, vowing to “make her pay” even after her miscarriage.
Public outrage is growing, with citizens calling on the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Stephen Odey, to investigate and take action against Mrs. Ndifon.
