Leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch has described Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a hero.
Badenoch’s comment came after President Zelenskyy’s heated
exchange with his United States counterpart, Donald Trump.
Recall that Trump and Zelenskyy had clashed at
the Oval Office in Washington regarding the ongoing war with Russia.
Trump and the U.S. Vice President, JD Vance allegedly
bullied Zelenskyy out of the discussion.
The Ukrainian President has continued to secure overwhelming
support from world leaders since the clash.
Speaking on the matter, Kemi Badenoch in a post on her X handle
explained that Zelenskyy remains a hero because he was fighting for the
Ukrainian people.
She said, “I thought it was quite an extraordinary press
conference and we all need to remember that President Zelenskyy is a hero.
“He represents the Ukrainian people’s strength and
resistance to an authoritarian regime that is trying to destroy them.
“President Zelenskyy needs all of the support that he can
get and I think it is inappropriate to conduct that kind of disagreement in
front of the camera.
“The only person who benefits from that is President Putin”.
