A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George has said President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga would pay for insulting former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obasanjo had described Nigeria under Tinubu as a failing
state while highlighting the pervasive corruption and leadership failure under
Tinubu’s administration.
Condemning Obasanjo’s remark, Onanuga said the former
president was not an ideal Nigerian leader.
Onanuga faulted Obasanjo for taking to the public media to
“bestow his unsolicited wisdom on leadership and governance in Nigeria.”
Onanuga noted that former President Obasanjo had continued
to blame those who served after his tenure for the nation’s myriad of
challenges even when he had his many flaws.
Reacting, George said Onanuga would be made to pay for
insulting an elder because it’s not allowed in Yoruba land.
Featuring on Nigeria Info FM, George said: “An old man who
could be Bayo Onanuga’s father said something and you took him on by blasting
him right; left and centre.
“That is his style because he did it to me before, he didn’t
meet me in Ijebu Ode Grammar school.
“You can see how small he is when comparing himself to us,
people give their opinion and you insult them.
“Even if you want to react, the Yoruba culture does not
allow that insult from him.
“Someday he would pay back, in Yoruba land it’s not
impossible for him (Onanuga) to be charmed because there would be a day after
and that’s more important. He should be vigilante as he walks because it’s
possible for him to be charmed.”

Bode, you may go to court. At least Yoruba culture allows that one. You guys know what you are doing. You want to drag Igbos into your brother matter? It cannot happen. Enjoy Tinubu while he lasts.
