Rema shuts down London O2 Arena with Mavin All Stars

Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, shuts down his “Ravage Uprising” 02 Arena show in London on November 14, 2023.

The sold-out show of 20,000 capacity saw the likes of Nigerian celebrities and fans traveling all the way to London for the show that can described as yet another celebration of Afrobeats, showcasing the genre’s energy, diversity, and global appeal.

Rema joined other award-winning Nigerian artistes like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake who have already sold the arena.

Performing at the iconic arena, Rema opened his act by performing his latest hit, “DND” as he made a dramatic entrance on a stationary horse, wearing a mask and black ensemble.

He then progressed into a melodic performance of “Iron Man” with a thrilling spectacle of Indian dance choreographers on either side of him.

The “Calm Down” crooner went on to perform his hits like “Dirty”, “Ginger Me”, “Addicted”, “Why”, “Dimension”, “Soundgasm”, “Fame”, “HOV”, “Trouble Maker”, “Lady”, “Don’t Leave”, “Dumebi”, “Bounce” and “Charm”, all from his growing catalogue of songs.

One of the highlights of the night was when Rema brought out his fellow Mavin Records signees, Ayra Starr, Crayon, and Magixx, for the performance of “Won Da Mo.”

The singer wrapped up the night with a performance of his smash hit “Calm Down”, with over 38,000 people tuned in to watch the YouTube live stream.

Earlier, Rema expressed his gratitude to fellow artist Burna Boy for his support and inspiration, before going on stage.

“Before I get on stage, I want to say a big thank you to @burnaboy for bringing me on stage 2 years ago,” Rema wrote. “Today it’s my turn to conquer that same stage and I wish you were here to share this moment with me. Regardless, I’m grateful for the motivation,” he tweeted.

Rema’s message highlights the deep admiration and respect he holds for Burna Boy, who has been a pioneer in the Afrobeats genre and a source of inspiration for many aspiring artists.

Two years ago, Burna Boy invited Rema to perform on stage during his own concert at the O2 Arena, a significant moment that undoubtedly fueled Rema’s own aspirations to perform at the same venue.

Rema’s tribute to Burna Boy is a testament to the camaraderie and mutual respect that exists within the Afrobeats community.
