Bauchi NNPP's governorship candidate Haliru Jika returns to APC

Members of the Bauchi chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC are celebrating the return of Senator Haliru Dauda Jika, the 2023 candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the party.

Jika dumped the NNPP and took his APC membership card at Kafin Madaki ward in Ganjuwa local government in the state over the weekend.

The chairman of Kafin Mafarki APC ward, Malam Ango Abdullahi, presented the membership card to Jika.

He noted that some forces in the party had tried to prevent the former NNPP candidate from returning to the APC.

According to him, Jika’s return to APC will boost the party’s confidence and help make it succeed in the state and the country at large.

Speaking after receiving his membership card, Jika promised that he would work with other stakeholders to make the party stronger in the state ahead of the 2027 elections.

“All APC members in Bauchi State will now come together, harmonise and strategise, fuse together as one solid entity ahead of the 2027 polls so that we will emerge victorious in Bauchi State”, Jika told his supporters who were present to witness his formal return to the APC.

“This is a homecoming, this is my ward, Kafin Mafarki, it is my support base, it is my base, so I don’t expect anything short of what I’m seeing today. My return to the APC is marking the beginning of a new dawn in the party in Bauchi State.

“As I said earlier in Hausa, Bauchi has always been a revolutionary state. It is not a politicking time now, it is time for us to restrategise, come together and unite so that 2027 will be an easy ride for the APC in Bauchi state, Inda Allah,” Jika stated.

Senator Haliru Jika represented the Bauchi Central Senatorial district in the Senate.

He was also a former member of the House of Representatives and former Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, thanked the delegates.

He dumped the APC in June 2022 to contest for the NNPP governorship ticket.
