A Federal High Court in Abuja has restrained the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and its Director, Corps Certification, Ibrahim Muhammad from disclaiming or disowning for now, the NYSC certificate of national service issued to the Enugu State Governor-elect, Barrister Mbah Peter.
Mbah won the March 18 gubernatorial election in Enugu State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
It was reported that the NYSC had in February written a letter signed by Ibrahim Muhammed claiming that the NYSC certificate belonging to Mbah was not issued by the Corps.
However, Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo on Monday in Abuja issued the restraining order while ruling on an ex parte motion brought by Emeka Ozoani, on behalf of Mbah.
Mbah is arguing that, upon completion of NYSC service, he was issued the certificate of National Service No. A.808297 dated 6th January 2003.
Meanwhile, Justice Ekwo has fixed May 22 for hearing from all other parties to the suit.
