Ify Rhodes-Vivour has berated persons she labeled ‘bigots’
for attacking her husband, a contestant in the Lagos governorship election.
The scientist is the wife of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the
candidate of Labour Party, LP, defeated by incumbent Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
In a Twitter post on Friday, Ify told those that stood
against her spouse to be “consistent with this madness”.
“This is for the Nigerian bigots who say they cannot vote
for a man because he doesn’t speak their language.
“I hope you maintain the same energy by receiving medical
care only from doctors/surgeons who speak your language.”
She noted that death stared people in the face during the
gubernatorial poll, lamenting some people lost their lives.
Ify said elections have consequences and once bigots set a
precedent, they have no control over how people react.
The tweet which hit 2 million views early Saturday morning
attracted hundreds of reactions in favour of or against.
Rejecting the election outcome, Rhodes-Vivour alleged
“collusion” between the All Progressives Congress, APC, and electoral
officials.
“The results do not represent the wishes of the majority of
peaceful Lagosians…results from our agents and situation room indicated we
won,” she claimed.
