Ayo Fayose, former governor of Ekiti, was spotted on
Wednesday campaigning for the reelection of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of the
state.
Fayose was seen canvassing votes for Sanwo-Olu in a video
posted on Twitter by Jubril Gawat, senior special assistant to the Lagos
governor on new media.
The former Ekiti governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
member addressed a group of Lagos transport workers in the video.
“Yesterday, the former governor of Ekiti State, took the
#SanwoLekansi message to the transport workers at the local airports in Lagos
together with Mr governor,” Gawat wrote.
“Governor Jide
Sanwoolu listened to some issues raised by the transport workers and he
promised to address them. Mr Fayose recently endorsed Sanwoolu and has been
canvassing for votes for him everywhere.”

In a recent interview with Arise Television, Fayose had
described Olajide Adediran, the Lagos governorship candidate of the PDP, and
Funke Akindele, his running mate, as “people doing theatre”.
He said the duo lacks the requisite credentials to govern
Lagos and its challenges.
Shortly after the presidential election of February 25,
Fayose said he was stepping aside from party politics and “staying off” the
PDP.
“From today, I stay off PDP. Let me put it this way, in
party politics. I say it here from today, I step aside because I must be
talking like a leader in this country,” he had said.
The former governor subsequently clarified that he is yet to
resign his membership of the main opposition party.
