Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has hailed Bruno Fernandes for showing his “personality”, putting behind him the 7-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Ten Hag singled out Fernandes as the man-of-the-match in their 4-1 win over Real Betis in the Europa League.
The match at Old Trafford came just four days after the 7-0 humiliation against Liverpool on Sunday.
United captain Fernandes has been criticized for his performance at Anfield, but responded with a goal and an assist.
“I think he was the best player on the pitch.
“It showed his personality. He played a little deeper role tonight and I think he was brilliant, making the game from the back in position, a lot of good passes in between the lines and from there we created a lot of chances,” Ten Hag said.
