APC governors meet Buhari over naira scarcity, anti-Tinubu activities

 

 Governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, will on Friday meet with President Muhammadu Buhari on to discuss challenges being faced by Nigerians over the scarcity of Naira notes.

The governors will also discuss allegations that some members of his kitchen cabinet are working against the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai had stirred the hornet’s nest on Wednesday when he accused some elements within the Presidential Villa of working to frustrate Tinubu.

He had also faulted the Naira redesign policy of the administration which he said has caused untold hardship to Nigerians and cast the party and Tinubu in a bad light.

Recall some of the APC governors had expressed dissatisfaction and frustration on how the Central Bank of Nigeria’s policy on new Naira notes and scarcity of fuel have crippled economic activities in their states at a time the country is preparing for a general elections

The APC governors will also let out their feelings over these twin problem to the president.

It was also gathered that the governors will apprise the president on how some of his appointees and close aides are working together with the opposition to make his party lose the elections and demand quick action and sanctions against such individuals responsible for the current hardship on Nigerians.

The APC governors will also demand that the President direct the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to review the cashless and new Naira policies to make for adjustments that will immediately alleviate the pains of Nigerians

Recall many Nigerians have been expressing their frustrations over the twin problem of fuel scarcity and new Naira notes that have affected small businesses and inhibited daily traffic of people in and around their states.
