Dunsin Oyekan to Christians: How do you hear God when listening to Asake?

Dunsin Oyekan, the Nigerian gospel singer, has wondered why some Christians listen to both gospel and secular songs.

Speaking during a recent ministration in Lagos, Oyekan also took a swipe at Christians who prefer to listen to songs from Asake, rather than Nathaniel Bassey.

In now-viral footage, the 38-year-old songwriter said such Christians are living in a confused state. He added that there was no way they could hear from God.

“Nathaniel Bassey does it for me, but you just played brother Asake’s song,” he said.

“How will you hear God? You’re living in a confused state. Somebody is telling you as it is with the world, another is telling you as it is with God, which one do you want to pick?

“You know what baffles me? It’s your confidence and you will still share it online.”

Oyekan, also known as The Eagle, is a pastor, gospel singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter.

He is the convener of the Code Red Worship Experience.

The singer has a plethora of inspiring songs and albums to his credit.

In September last year, he survived a ghastly car accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

“Indeed God is sweet to worship (Oluwadunsin). God is my glory, the lifter up of my head. The keeper of Isreal neither sleeps nor slumber, he watches over his word to perform it,” he had written.

“Glory to God now and forever more. I remain in awe of God!!! I am perfectly okay…. body, soul and mind….Thank you everyone for the calls, messages prayers and well wishes.”
