Traditional leaders, catalysts for successful government- Gov. Bagudu

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has expressed satisfaction over the way and manner the traditional institution in the state is pursuing the interest of his administration.

He described traditional rulers as the catalysts for the success recorded by his administration in all sectors of human development.

The Governor stated this at the palace of the Emir of Yauri, Zayyanu Muhammad Abdullahi on Friday when he paid homage to the royal father and introduced the APC gubernatorial candidate, Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu to him.

Bagudu explained that in Kebbi State, there are people of different tribes and religions who are knit together for common interests and common ideas, stressing that what unites them is stronger than what divides them.

“The numerous contributions of the traditional leaders as the custodians of tradition have brought both the State government and the governed together under one umbrella”, he added.

“In fact, if not for the insecurity ravaging the entire north, Kebbi State would have been one of the most peaceful states in the country”, he added.

The Governor commended the Emir for his consistent loyalty and cooperation to his government, soliciting support for the candidature of Nasir Idris to enable him consolidate the achievement so far recorded, by his administration.

Governor Bagudu also sought support from the Emir and his people towards ensuring the victory of Nasir Idris to emerge as the next of the State and as well as all the candidates of APC in the State.

Speaking earlier, the former Governor and Director-General, State APC Campaign Organization, Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari said the purpose of the gathering in Yauri was to flag off the zonal rally for Kebbi South soliciting support to APC candidates at national and state levels.

On his part, the APC governorship candidate, Nasir Idris stressed that he was in the palace to present himself to the Emir through the Director-General APC campaign organization and to seek support for his candidature and other APC contestants to consolidate upon what Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has done in the State.

In his response, the Emir, Zayyanu Muhammad Abdullahi appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for fulfilling promises to the emirate in the areas of roads construction, electricity supply, HYPPADEC establishment, and appointment of an indigene of Yauri as Managing Director and Presidential Implementation of Artisanal Mining Scheme in Yauri emirate.

After the meeting with the Emir, Governor Bagudu and his entourage moved to the township Stadium where he addressed hundreds of party supporters who trooped out massively at the APC zonal campaign rally for Kebbi south.

Bagudu urged the electorate to vote massively for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmad Tinubu, Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu as Governor of Kebbi State as well as other candidates in the 2023 general elections for continuity of development and good governance.
