2023: Call your aides to order to avoid unnecessary crisis in PDP – Group tells Makinde

A group within the fold of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Atiku Victory Vanguard (AVV), has enjoined Governor Seyi Makinde of the state to call some of his aides to order.

The group noted that the need for the governor to call the aides to order was necessary, so as to avoid unnecessary crisis in the party.

Recall that Makinde is one of the five governors that make up G5, a group of governors within PDP.

The G5 governors had earlier said that they will not support the presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.

They vowed that they will not support Atiku, unless the national Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu resigns.

It was gathered that some aides of the governor had been making unnecessary comments about some leaders of the party.

It was gathered that the aides have been making unnecessary comments about some of the leaders who insisted that they will support Atiku in the state.

One of the leaders, who has been allegedly attacked verbally by some aides of the governor according to reports is a former Minister of Power and Steel, Elder Wole Oyelese.

The group alleged that the aides of the governor, instead of addressing the issue on ground, went to make some unguarded statements against Oyelese.

AVV then said that it expects the governor to call the people who are making unnecessary comments to order.

It added that this is necessary so as to avoid unnecessary crisis in the party.

The group in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday in Ibadan, the state capital said, “We sincerely hope that Governor Seyi Makinde will call this faceless, rude and indecent individuals to order for the sake of peace in our great party.

“We expect people who will be speaking in defence of the governor to be sharp-witted individuals and not nit-wits as we are currently witnessing.

“We sincerely believe that when our principal said that many people who do not mean well for Governor Makinde currently surround him, Elder Oyelese knew what he was saying.

“This faceless group tried to smear our leader’s name with matter of money. We challenge anyone who has hard evidence that Elder Oyelese ever solicited for funds or has ever compromised on financial matters to come out and say so. We believe that for a Nigerian who held public office at the federal level for over five years to leave office with his reputation untarnished is a thing to be applauded.”
