EPL: It’ll happen again – Man City’s Walker warns Liverpool star

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has warned Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold that he will be criticized throughout his career.

Walker said this ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League tie with Manchester City on Sunday.

Alexander-Arnold has endured a difficult start to the 2022/23 campaign, with defensive errors and lapses in concentration throughout his displays for the Reds.

The 24-year-old has been slammed for his performances so far and did not play a minute in England’s latest internationals in September.

And Walker believes that his fellow compatriot will continue to get criticism throughout his career.

“My personal point of view is, it is going to happen again. People are going to have doubts again. It is football, it is about opinions. Some opinions are definitely not right, and some are right,” Walker (as per The Liverpool Echo) when speaking about Alexander-Arnold’s situation.

He added: “I remember me being at Tottenham, and people were saying I could not defend. Now it is vice versa, people say, ‘He’s not good going forward, but he is a great defender.’

“I am still the same guy. I have also seen a few things saying I am losing my pace, but I feel great, I feel so good.”
