Ekiti Gov, Oyebanji swears in SSG, AG, cautions against corruption

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated the readiness of his administration to sustain the virtues and values of the state through the appointment of people with proven integrity into key positions in his administration.

At the swearing-in ceremony of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Habibat Adubiaro and the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Toba Apata, SAN, Oyebanji noted that his administration would not bring on board people whose missions are different from the development of the state.

Governor Oyebanji, who said the Appointees were chosen by merit, noted that there was no imposition from any quarters but courage, fairness, competence and character were considered in making the appointments.

He charged the appointees to acquaint themselves with the mission and vision of the administration as well as develop sociopolitical intelligence to surmount societal pressures.

He charged them to demonstrate commitment to the development of the state in line with achieving his electioneering promises to the people.

He warned against getting involved in anything that could put the state in disrepute, saying his administration would not condone corruption and acts of indiscipline in public office.

The Secretary to the state government, Dr Adubiaro, who, until her appointment, was a lecturer at the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, vowed to live above board.

Also, the State Attorney General, Mr Apata (SAN) thanked the Governor for the opportunity with a promise to continue with the reformation effort in the justice system of the state.

Present at the occasion were traditional rulers and top government officials.
