Buhari welcomes first great grandchild

President Muhammadu Buhari has welcomed his first great grandchild.

According to Daily Trust, Aisha Mukhtar, Buhari’s granddaughter, recently welcomed a baby girl.

Mukhtar is daughter to Fatima, Buhari’s second daughter and a board member of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN).

She tied the knot with Khalid Wambai at a decorated ceremony last year.

Fatima was birthed during Buhari’s first marriage to Safinatu Yusuf.

The president tied the knot with Safinatu in 1971. The union, blessed with five children, however, crashed in 1988.

In 1989, Buhari married Aisha, his current wife and first lady of the country.

The birth of Buhari’s great grandchild comes a few weeks after Zahra, wife to Yusuf, his son, graduated from Brighton University in the United Kingdom.

Aisha Buhari had revealed that she graduated with first-class honours in Architectural Science.

Zahra and Yusuf tied the knot on August 20, 2021, in Kano state.

The lovebirds were said to have met each other in the United Kingdom where the president’s son finished his undergraduate studies.
