Buhari returns to Nigeria from South Korea



President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday returned to Abuja after attending the First World Bio Summit in Seoul, South Korea.

 

The presidential aircraft carrying Buhari and members of his entourage landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at about 4:10 am on Friday morning, NAN reports.

 

While in Seoul, Buhari presented Nigeria’s statement at the summit, where he expressed the country’s readiness to become a global hub for sustainable manufacturing and distribution of biological pharmaceuticals and vaccines to support initiatives to keep people safe.

 

The Nigerian leader also met with Ban Ki-Moon, the former United Nations Secretary-General, and the African Group of Ambassadors accredited to Korea on the sidelines of the summit in Seoul.

 

Buhari advocated increased Korean investments in Nigeria for mutual economic benefit.

 

He witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Daewoo Group and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd to rehabilitate the Kaduna refinery.

 

Before leaving Seoul, Buhari had an interactive meeting with the leadership and select Nigerian community members at the end of the summit on Thursday.
