#BBNaija: Sheggz was abusive, manipulative, ex-lover spills

Gbemisola Akinde, ex-lover of Sheggz, the BBNaija season seven housemate, has opened up on her failed relationship with him.

 

In a lengthy Twitter thread on Friday, Akinde, with the handle BeautyByBemi, said the pair dated between 2019 and 2021.

 

The brand influencer alleged that during the period, the footballer was “mentally and verbally abusive and also manipulative”.

 

Akinde said the relationship was a “toxic one”. She also claimed Sheggz constantly talked down on her.

 

The YouTuber said his alleged violent personality made her sustain a leg injury in 2020 and was the reason she took to social media to call him out.

 

“We dated on & off between 2019-2021. During the relationship he was mentally & verbally abusive, Narcissistic, very manipulative, overbearing and the list goes on,” she wrote.

 

“The video circulating was posted in November 2020 after my leg injury, when we had broken up.”

Akinde said she initially broke up with him during the trauma but continued the relationship after he promised to change for the better.

 

The entrepreneur added that she finally parted ways with the 26-year-old in November 2021 after realising he did not change as promised.

 

“Nothing or no one can bring me down. I broke up with him officially in November 2021 and he was still trying different tactics to get back with me during his stay in Nigeria between December 2021 – March 2022,” she added.

Sheggz had initially denied knowing Akinde.

 

In an interview with Hot FM, however, he admitted he knew the “person in question” but kept mum on her abuse allegations.

 

“I have dated different amazing women in the past…I didn’t hear my name in any clip that was shown to me…I never said I don’t know the person in question,” he added.

 

Sheggz, born Segun Olusemo, has been in the news over his relationship with Bella, fellow BBNaija season seven housemate.
