A three-storey building has collapsed on Sonuga street,
Mushin area of Lagos state.
The building collapsed on Friday.
Nosa Okunbor, spokesperson of the Lagos State Emergency
Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident.
This recent incident comes weeks after Idris Salako, former Lagos commissioner for physical planning and urban development, resigned his appointment.
The commissioner resigned amid recurring building collapses
in the state.
On September 4, a seven-storey uncompleted building
collapsed at Oba Idowu Oniru street, in the Lekki area of Lagos.
At least six persons were reported dead.
In May, the collapse of a three-storey building in the
Ebute-Meta axis of state claimed at least eight lives.
In February, a three-storey building collapsed in the Onike
area of Yaba, leading to several casualties.
On November 1, 2021, a 21-storey building being developed by
Fourscore Homes, collapsed in the Ikoyi axis of the state.
