The Coalition of Southern and Middle Belt Youth Leaders,
COSMBYLA, the umbrella body of all youth groups in the South East, South-South,
South West and Middle Belt region have condemned the alleged plan by the
Miyetti Allah to establish a vigilante security group in the 36 states.
Reports had emerged that the Miyeitti Allah Kauta Hore is
currently concluding plans to establish a security outfit for its members
across the country.
Reacting to the report, COSMBYLA in a statement on Monday by
its President General, Goodluck Ibem said the move “confirmed a plot to
Fulanize the country” under the pretence of setting a security outfit in a land
that does not belong to them.
The statement alleged that the move by the Miyetti Allah was
triggered by the recent security outfit established by the Benue State
Governor, Samuel Ortom, saying they are out to counter the outfit.
The statement reads, “What interest does Miyette Allah have
to establish a vigilante group in Benue, Ondo, Anambra and other States? Are
these states their ancestral homes? What is their business in establishing a
vigilante in another man’s land? It is clear that they are looking for trouble
where none exists.
“Dr. Samuel Ortom is the executive governor of Benue State
and the Chief Security Officer of his state who is constitutionally empowered
to provide security for his people at all times.
“Which law or constitution gave Miyetti Allah the authority
to establish a vigilante that they will even be making reference to the
constitutional actions of state governors. What insolence!
“Miyetti Allah is biting more than it can chew, it’s high
time their patrons who know themselves call the Miyyeti Allah to order before
things get out of hand.
“It is treasonable offence and punishable by law for Miyetti
Allah to arrogate to themselves the power and responsibilities of a governor.
“We, therefore, call on Miyetti Allah to immediately
apologize to Nigerians, Dr. Samuel Ortom the executive governor of Benue State
and submit themselves for prosecution for crimes committed against humanity”.
I thought if you are sojourning in another peoples land and it is not favourable to u the sojourner, the reasonable and sensible action for you to take is to migrate back to where you come from or into another land that is more favourable. The forming of another security group in another man's land shows they want make and cause trouble. Let the international world observe and consider the actions of miyetti Allah that it is terror inclined.
