‘Take what from who?’ — Kamaru Usman tackles Edwards ahead of title defence

Nigeria’s Kamaru Usman has taunted Leon Edwards, his opponent, ahead of the UFC 278 duel between both fighters.

Usman challenged Edwards during the ceremonial weigh-ins on Friday evening at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Edwards had earlier said: “I’m going to humble you [Usman] Saturday night.”

Usman, 35, put his title on the line against the Briton in a rematch of the 2015 clash that saw the Nigerian win by unanimous decision.

“One thing I have to say is ‘taking what from who?” Kamaru said during the weigh-in.

“So much has been said. Leon said a lot and he truly believes that.”

The number two pound-for-pound fighter is looking at snatching a sixth consecutive win against Edwards.

The champion, who has defended his title five times since beating Tyron Woolley in 2019, is on a 19-fight winning streak.
