Moses Armstrong denies rape allegation, says ‘I’m happy I went to prison’

Moses Armstrong, the embattled Nollywood actor, has denied the rape allegations levelled against him.

The film star has been in the public eye for allegedly raping a minor.

Armstrong, who is a former aide to Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom state, was arrested in June and sent to prison.

He was said to have been charged with rape, intimidation, conspiracy, and supplying of drugs or instruments to procure abortion.

The actor was also said to have committed the act with a 16-year-old girl about three years ago.

Last month, a magistrate court in the state transferred the case to the high court and struck out a suit by the prosecution seeking to remand the actor.

Armstrong, who was recently granted bail, took to his Facebook page to state that he has “never raped” anyone before.

The movie star also disclosed that he was happy he went to prison because “God went with me”.

“Nothing Pass God. If you believe, you will receive. Nothing Pass God. I did not rape nobody. I don’t rape…I have never raped,” he wrote.

“And I will never rape. I’m back stronger and better…I’m happy I went to prison, God went with me.”

“The experience is awesome. You will hear it soon. Blessings to all of you Angels that believed in me. Love you all deeply. #ONELOVE #AkwaIbomFinest.”

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) also announced the suspension of Armstrong “over his arrest by the police on allegation of raping a minor.”
