Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, refused to speak
on his clash with his Chelsea counterpart, Thomas Tuchel, during and after
their 2-2 draw on Sunday.
The two men nearly came to blows after Emile Hojberg
equalized for Spurs, cancelling out Kalidou Koulibaly’s opener.
After the game, Tuchel held onto Conte’s hand firmly and
muttered swear words, with both managers needing to be separated.
When he faced the media, Conte chose to reflect on the draw
at Stamford Bridge.
“In my opinion, it is better to talk about the game. The
game was an exciting game, a difficult game for both teams. We want to be
competitive in every game. Chelsea showed us today how to be a really, really
good team but we did better than last season.
“I don’t want to comment as it’s not the most important
thing. If there is a problem, it’s not between me and him, it’s for the others.
“We are here to speak about football, not what happened
between the coaches,” Conte said.
