Osun governor-elect charged to hit the ground running

The Osun State Governor-Elect, Ademola Adeleke has been advised to make his government an embodiment of good governance by giving priority to pensioners, workers and endurable infrastructural development.

The Governor-elect was also urged to hit the ground running as soon as he takes the Oath of Office in November by constituting members of his cabinet.

Giving this advice in a signed congratulatory statement, Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, a human rights activist and Executive Chairman of Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) urged Adeleke to right the perceived wrong of his predecessors in office by allowing justice to prevail on every action of his government.

He tasked Adeleke to map out the strategies to make a difference in the delivery of good governance to the people of the state within the shortest possible time of his tenure in office.

“The Governor-Elect should know that every success in life used to have many friends, even, without contributing to such success by fellow human beings but nobody would like to associate with a failure and he should know that end of his four years tenure of office, has come on the day he was sworn-in into office so as not surround his government with mediocrities.”

Adeniyi commended the Osun governor-elect for dedicating the victory at the poll to Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, his late elder brother who was the first executive governor of the state, and the people of the state.

“I advise the governor-elect to hit the ground running immediately after he takes the Oath of Office in November by constituting egg-heads as members of his cabinet.

“He should also warn the members of his cabinet against taking any decision on his behalf that would run contrary to the wishes of the masses.

“I urge him to learn a lot about what led to the recent election results of his predecessor in office by taking a cue from it.”

He called on Adeleke not to run an administration of vengeance but a masses-oriented one that would put the State at an enviable height among the comity of States in the federation.
