Insecurity: Police fast-track short code activation for emergencies

 

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba has assured Nigerians that the security agency was keen on their protection.

 

Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi gave the assurance, Tuesday night.

 

The spokesman was reacting to the worsening insecurity in the country.

 

Adejobi confirmed that the IGP is in discussion with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on the situation.

 

The talks are meant to fast track the activation of the Police short code 933 to ease communication and sharing of information.

 

“We are sure this drive will definitely boost our operations and service delivery.

 

“We admonish Nigerians to be patient and believe in our system, as the system still works.

 

“We will surely overcome this present condition and stand tall to celebrate in Nigeria.

 

“Nigeria is our common heritage that must be guided and protected”, the PRO added.
