Kaduna govt sacked 2,357 teachers to boost education – NUT



The Kaduna State Government, on Monday, reacted to the sack of 2,357 primary school teachers across the state.


The State Government had a few weeks ago, sacked over 2,000 primary school teachers over inefficiency and poor qualification.


It also dismissed the National President of the National Union of Teachers for not partaking in the compulsory competency test


Reacting, the Chairman of Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board, KADSUBEB, Tijani Abdullahi, on Monday, explained that the sack of the alleged unqualified teachers was to boost primary education in the state.


He said the state government sacked over 2000 teachers because it wants to achieve quality education, and promote the activities of the National Union of Teachers, NUT.


The SUBEB Chairman while responding to questions from newsmen on the government’s position on the matter noted that there are plans to recruit Ten Thousand Teachers to address the huge gap in Teacher, Student ratio.
