Manchester United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, believes Manchester City and Liverpool will play against each other in the Champions League final this year.
Rangnick said both Man City and Liverpool have strengthened their squads and are currently the best two teams in the world.
Recall that Liverpool defeated Villarreal 2-0 in the Champions League semi-final first-leg last week, while Man City won 4-3 against Real Madrid.
“If you think of Manchester City and Liverpool, they brought in [players] every transfer window,” Rangnick told Sky Sports.
“They strengthened the team, they brought in players not that popular at the time when they signed and developed into the two best teams in the world.
“I would not be surprised if they play in the Champions League final in a few weeks.
“This shows it’s possible that this can happen and it would not necessarily need three, four years in order to do that.”
