David Adeleke, the award-winning Nigerian singer better
known as Davido, says money does not give people the right to disrespect
others.
In a Twitter post on Saturday, the music star advised his
followers to be kind to people that appear inferior to them.
The ‘OBO’ crooner said while having money might get people
the best cars and other luxuries in life, it should not be used to belittle
others.
“Money might get you a faster car, a bigger house or the
best VIP seats but it doesn’t give you the right to treat others with less any
differently. Class and decency have no price tag attached. Be Kind!!!!!!!” he
wrote.
Davido has established himself as a prominent name in the
global music industry.
In March, the ‘Assurance’ crooner said people thought he
would not go far as a musician due to his wealthy background.
“Everybody just came together and I saw joy in that
room…they were like this dude really beat the odds,” he had said.
“I was predicted to probably have one or two songs because
my daddy has money. Some said ‘he’s going to do two or three songs and we’re
going to push him out of the way.’
“But 11 years later,
I defeated them and I’m not even 30 yet. So, the experience really touched me.”
