Chelsea identifies eight players to sign under new owner, Boehly [Full list]

Chelsea has reportedly identified eight players to sign this summer under their new owner, Todd Boehly.

The UK Government, on Wednesday morning, finally approved the sale of Chelsea to Boehly’s consortium.

The consortium has now bought Chelsea from Roman Abramovich as the Russian billionaire finally hands off the west London club.

Chelsea is set to lose several players as their contracts will run out this summer, meaning it will be in dire need of bolstering.

Chelsea’s defence areas will be particularly worn, with Antonio Rudiger seemingly agreeing to a move to Real Madrid while César Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso all appear close to signing for Barcelona.

The Blues finished the 2021/22 season in the third position, trailing title winners Manchester City by 19 points, so Boehly will be keen to back manager Thomas Tuchel financially as they look to close that gap.

According to The Telegraph, Boehly has granted Tuchel £200 million to spend this summer transfer window and the club have drawn up an extensive list of eight targets.

The players are: Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Maria Gimenez and Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.

Others are West Ham’s Declan Rice, Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar.
